New Zealand is famous for so many internationally acclaimed celebrities. From actors like Russell Crowe or Ian Mune to models like Rachel Hunter to sportsmen like Sir Peter Blake and Sir Richard Hadlee.
But one arena where New Zealand really doesn't have an international mega-star is dance. Depending on your age and dance or music style, great dancers can bring images of Michael Jackson, Anna Pavlova, Fred Astaire or Patrick Swayze. But don't be fooled, New Zealand has some amazing dancers and some wonderful dance schools. Being a little country, most performers, sadly, have to move overseas to receive their proper acclaim. However, NZ is full of up-and-coming potential dance superstars if they are only spotted by the right scout.
However, if you talk to most students in a dance school, the live for the dance and no necessarily the mega superstardom. As Gloria Estafan sings, "The rhythm is gonna get ya!"
